Softball.
Stay Active has a partnership with Softball SA through Sporting Schools which means you can book us directly for your next Softball Batter Up program. Softball Batter Up is a multi-session program, introducing participants to the fundamental skills of softball and ensures maximum participation and enjoyment.
Stay Active can work with your school to assist in developing, implementing and coordinating a Softball Batter Up program which can be integrated into your schools existing curriculum. Softball Batter Up activities align with the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum and are written with coaches and teachers in mind.
Program content:
Softball Batter Up programs are designed to be fun, flexible and engaging for children, focusing on fun activities while learning basic throwing, catching and striking skills. Using the Game Sense approach, amongst other benefits, students will be engaged in minor and modified game strategies and concepts where there are opportunities to develop both skills and an understanding of the tactics of the game.
Format:
Stay Active can deliver a once-off Softball session to kick off your school's PE Week or National Health and Physical Education Day (Please note: one-off sessions cannot be funded through Sporting Schools).
We can also begin your PE Program with a 4-week block of sessions (e.g. every Friday for 4-weeks) facilitated by Stay Active to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Where possible, we also work with your school's existing timetable to ensure minimal disruption to the student learning environment.
Equipment:
To promote ongoing participation in sport and physical activity beyond the delivery of our programs, Stay Active endeavours to utilise any sports equipment available at the school and/or OSHC. However it is important to note that this will be discussed with the school prior to scheduling the program.
Qualification:
Stay Active coaches have completed Softball Australia's Softball Batter Up Coaching Induction course which qualifies them to run Softball programs in primary schools.
