Stay Active has a partnership with Hockey Australia through Sporting Schools which means you can book us directly for your next Hookin2Hockey program. Hookin2Hockey gives young boys and girls the opportunity to learn the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends all while beginning their lifelong love of hockey!

Stay Active can work with your school to assist in developing, implementing and coordinating a Hockey program which can be integrated into your schools existing curriculum. All activities are aligned to learning outcomes and standards from the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum.

Program content:

The skills students will learn include: ball handling, passing, dribbling and tackling. Using the Game Sense approach, amongst other benefits, students will be engaged in minor and modified game strategies and concepts where there are opportunities to develop both skills and an understanding of the tactics of the game.

Format:

Stay Active can deliver a once-off Hockey session to kick off your school's PE Week or National Health and Physical Education Day (Please note: one-off sessions cannot be funded through Sporting Schools).

We can also begin your PE Program with a 4-week block of sessions (e.g. every Friday for 4-weeks) facilitated by Stay Active to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Where possible, we also work with your school's existing timetable to ensure minimal disruption to the student learning environment.

Equipment:

To promote ongoing participation in sport and physical activity beyond the delivery of our programs, Stay Active endeavours to utilise any sports equipment available at the school and/or OSHC. However it is important to note that this will be discussed with the school prior to scheduling the program.
