Early Learning.
Stay Active provides the foundation for young children's healthy habits, habits that they will have throughout their lifetime. Developing Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) early on in life is crucial to supporting the development of not only physical skills but social, emotional and cognitive skills in children. When children become competent and confident in these skills, they are able to take an increasing responsibility for their independence and physical wellbeing.
Our Early Learning Programs are run by qualified and pre-service Early Childhood Teachers.
Program content:
We provide a range of experiences that focus on the development of body management including spatial awareness and balance; locomotor skills such as running and hopping; and object control for example, throwing and catching. These individualised programs are created to meet the needs of the children at each centre, focusing on their strengths and abilities.

Curriculum alignment:
Our programs are designed in line with the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). By running these types of programs in your early learning centre, you will meet a range of standards and EYLF outcomes including:
-
NQS Standard 2.1: Healthy lifestyle (Element 2.1.3): Healthy eating and physical activity are promoted and appropriate for each child.
-
NQS Standard 6.2 Community Engagement: (Element 6.2.3): The service builds relationships and engages with its community.
-
EYLF Outcome 2.3: Children become aware of fairness
-
EYLF Outcome 3.1: Children become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing
-
EYLF Outcome 3.2: Children take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing
Format:
We recommend that programs are divided into specific age groups to cater for each child’s developmental level:
2 y.o. - 20 minutes
3 y.o. - 30 minutes
4 y.o. - 40 minutes
Equipment:
For every new program, Stay Active will purchase a $50 equipment pack for your centre to keep. We will use this equipment for the duration of the program. We will also utilise this equipment at any future programs. Equipment pack example: 2 x hula hoops, 2 x balls, 10 x numbered bean bags, 2 x plastic tennis bats and 2 x tennis balls.
Space:
Stay Active's Children's Sports Facilitators are trained to adapt to any space however small or large. A grassed area is recommended however not essential, as long as there is a safe, flat area for the children to move around. Please advise us of the space your child care has available at time of booking.
